Reporting to an Engineering Manager, the CNC Programmer will be working in a manufacturing environment with CNC Punch, Laser and Press Brake machines. Because this company believes in investing in their employees, the incumbent of this position will be provided extensive off site training in SolidWorks and Trumpf Boost software.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of CNC and SolidWorks experience, but entry level candidates with an AS degree will be considered and training will be provided by the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Create, implement, and verify programs/setup sheets for CNC machines • Evaluate, improve and document set-up procedures, process sheets and tool layouts in manufacturing systems • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards • Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production processes • 3D CAD design prints/drawings • Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cut • Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests • Determines sequence of operations in a program • Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency • Excellent print reading skills • Great working knowledge and understanding of machine tooling and proper usage • Generate and maintain information in Excel or Word based off CNC programs • Control the handling of CNC programs from server to CNC machines • Monitor, document, and control any changes made to CNC programs • Troubleshoot machining related issues (tools, manufacturing process, or mechanical) • General and practical knowledge of measuring tools, equipment, and concepts • Write and modify programs to increase efficiency • Evaluate all designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time and money for the company
REQUIREMENTS • Associate’s degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field or a mechanical field; or two years related experience and/or training • Two years preferred CAM experience, preferably SolidWorks • Trumpf Boost program experience is preferred but not required • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written • Must be mechanically inclined • Knowledge of metal shop work and manufacturing concepts preferred • General understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
