Bachelor’s degree or 7 years of industry experience required; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 7 years of financial services industry experience in Data Operations or like functions required; 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry preferred
Extensive knowledge of data requirements associated with mutual funds, offshore funds, sub-advised funds and institutional separate accounts. (i.e. positions, trades/transactions, performance, cash, trial, security, price data domains) strongly desired; familiarity with data management practices in the financial services industry strongly preferred
Solid experience supporting/using Investment Management data domains (security master, pricing data, positions, trades/transactions, performance, and account data) required
Experience with various data management software, services and vendors (e.g. EAGLE PACE, GoldenSource, Markit EDM, Vista One, Bloomberg, FactSet, Reuters, Middle Office Outsourcing Platforms, etc.) required
Security Processing Knowledge required; Derivative security knowledge desired; data warehouse expertise with EAGLE PACE strongly desired
Thorough understanding of technology and demonstrated ability to leverage technology within middle office data management functions required
This position delivers services and solutions associated with data engineering / strategy, data onboarding (requirements gathering / documentation, and business testing)
Acts as a project lead representing the business through data-based IT projects including providing strategic/tactical direction, decision making, facilitates cross-team sessions to work through issues/challenges encountered throughout the project, and provides senior/executive level updates to stakeholders and constituents.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise around investment management data including security master, account master, pricing data, positional data, transactional data, cash data and performance data
Directly interact with all levels of Investment Management to obtain business requirements in support of the end-users data needs, data representation requirements and day to day data usage requirements
Perform/execute/support application configuration activities within middle office platforms in support of data management / “gold copy” tools
Create, maintain, and promote cross-team or intra-team process flows, procedures, job aides and checklists in support of new or changing data needs / requirements (transition new business activities to operational team)
Support day-to-day operational teams as an escalation point of contact supporting triage activities and root cause analysis services around the exception management process
Support New Business Development initiatives and ensure that new endeavors have the appropriate level of Middle Office support. Assess new business requirements and identify the resources needed to support the engagement.
