Do you have a passion for the people you work with? We believe safety starts with people and are looking for an experienced safety professional to lead our safety programs. We take a positive, behavior-based approach to working with our team. Key responsibilities include:
Design and implement workplace processes, policies and behavior-based safety programs that help protect workers by minimizing or eliminating occupational injuries and illnesses.
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments and workplace practices for compliance.
Analyze safety data, report data trends and collaborate with appropriate personnel to make recommendations for improvements.
Ensure all safety and health programs and recordkeeping are compliant with local, state, federal, and OSHA requirements as well as company policies.
Plan and/or conduct education and training on a variety of safety topics; conduct safety orientation and equipment training with new employees.
Conduct workplace testing when appropriate.
Ensure effective administration of the workers compensation program.
What You Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health Management required (commensurate work-related experience may be substituted for required education).
Minimum of five (5) years of experience and responsibilities as a Safety Professional in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a steelmaking facility is preferred.
Ability to thrive in an exciting and challenging fast-paced environment.
Ability to flex work schedule when necessary to provide safety leadership across all shifts in two facilities.
