Do you enjoy building an amazing learning experience for your customers? We are seeking a Manager of Transition Service Sales & Registration to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a customer focused, detail oriented change agent. In this role, your primary focus is to increase the SEI’s impact by identifying, validating and communicating with new potential consumers of SEI training. You will synchronize with SEI Technical Divisions’ business development goals, will incorporate awareness of the funding profile of federal departments and key industry sectors, and will leverage the existing SEI brand. You will serve as a resource between disparate projects and departments to help effectively describe and communicate integrated training solutions.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and at least 5 years of related experience.
Weekend and evening hours required at times, to get the job done.
Willingness to travel to various locations to support the SEI’s overall mission. This includes within the SEI and CMU community, sponsor sites, conferences, and offsite meetings on occasion. Moderate travel (5%)

Act as POC responsible for course sales and would work in conjunction with the Customer Development/External Ops. Manager to transition SEI technologies through training both in-person and through eLearning.
Collaborate with SSD, CERT and ETC to actively promote and sell courses developed within these programs.
Direct the full range of business operations representing an approximate revenue of $3M including the development of policies, procedures and personnel management.
Work with the retention of transcripts, grades, CEUs and certification records and the tracking of student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.
Develop a quality assurance program for course registration staff whose main function is direct customer interaction.
Works closely with peers to increase effectiveness between and among related and diverse areas. Gives advice and counsel to senior administrators. Set procedures or precedents for self and others to follow.
Supervises both professional and support staff, including hiring and training; negotiating and approving employee’s goals and objectives, conducting performance appraisals; make recommendations for salary increases and promotion reviews. Coaches, develops and motivates peers. Specifically supervises the SEI Course Registration Associate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Mastery and a broad understanding of the training environment, student record retention and general management.
Excellent written/verbal, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and negotiating skills.
Function competently in a team environment as well as with external customers.
Display a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize in an ever-changing environment.
Ability to maintain or oversee accurate and detailed records.
Familiarity with SEI environment: 1 year experience in corporate and University training environment and experience in an Academic setting working in the training field.
Knowledge of Pro Class, StepFwd, Oracle and other SEI internal systems a plus.
Job Function Breakdown:
70% Course Sales, Customer Development - You will increase the impact of the SEI by being the main point of contact for training consumers. You will work to sell courses created by technical teams within the SEI.
20% Management, Payment Processes and Record Retention - Lead the registration department, set priorities and run departmental workloads for registration including IT interface. Direct customer work for non-standard requirements and issues. Manage and review customer payment process. Handle records retention processes for transcripts, authorizations, certifications, FERPA records. Answers all complex and most unique customer questions and/or corrects problems/issues directly.
5% Policy Development - Set policies for all course registration. Design and implement QA program.
5% Financial Forecasting and Reporting - Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting of all registration activity. Track and reconcile customer payments and charge string accounts. Provide budgetary information for the team to use for reporting purposes and overall decision-making for Education & Training.
