KJLC is a growing global manufacturer and distributor of vacuum technology and we are looking to expand our quality and improvement team.
The Industrial Engineer II is responsible for designing equipment or machine layout to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure products meet quality standards while minimizing production problems and costs. They will develop and maintain manufacturing routes for maximizing space, efficiency, and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with industry safety and design standards and guidelines. Drives and facilitates all aspects of process improvements. These improvements can include process time reductions, costs savings, and quality improvements.
Key Job Elements:
Application of lean concepts to both manufacturing and office process.
Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office, and production facilities.
Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization.
Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.
Achieve cost reductions within the specific product areas, with design engineering changes, semi-automation, or automation of equipment.
Analyze techniques and processes, and implement changes to improve safety, Quality and lower costs.
Design, manage fabrication, coordinate installation, and train employees on new or modified equipment to be utilized in the manufacturing processes.
Assist Product Engineers with product design changes and other improvements that may affect manufacturing processes.
Manage capital expenditures purchase, including submit requests and justification of capital projects.
Assist training of personnel in process procedures, process improvement techniques, and our quality system.
Continue to develop the corporate green image through sustainability initiatives.
Support the overall Quality team.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or similar field
Production layout or expansion experience
5+ years of experience
Experience implementing Lean (Lean Certified - Bronze), 5S, Kaizen and other process improvement practices
Workable knowledge of CAD programs
Detail-oriented and strong data analysis skills
Good negotiation skills
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Good management skills
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
