We are currently working with a privately held world class electronic contract manufacturer (ECM) to identify an experienced Operations Manager. This ECM has been in business for over 50 years and offers PCB assembly, wire harness assembly, and electromechanical (box build) services to a variety of industries. They operate on a single shift manufacturing environment on purpose, to allow everyone including their manufacturing employees to benefit from a flexible schedule that allows them to have work / life balance and not operate around the clock. Culturally, they offer an extremely pleasant work environment where employees are treated with respect and people related decisions are made with the best intentions of the employee and their families in mind. As a result, this organization reaps the reward of a highly tenured staff and low turnover.
Reporting to the GM, the Operations Manager will oversee management of all areas of manufacturing to assure products are manufactured on schedule while meeting quality standards and cost objectives, including continual improvement efforts, and the development and execution of capital plans for plant equipment, fulfilling other resource needs, and developing staff as necessary to meet organizational objectives. The Operations Manager’s direct reports span across the areas of the manufacturing operation, including Materials Management, Scheduling, Engineering, Quality, and will heavily interact with Sales / Marketing.
The successful incumbent of this job will be an active leader in the operation and be a “doer” who understands the importance of being a daily active presence in the operation vs. sitting behind a desk, as well as understands the importance of being a true leader / mentor and have an open management style – one who knows a big part of their job is listening to their employees, mentoring their people to further develop them, and making sure they have the resources needed to operate in a continual state of improvement.
