SUMMARY We are currently working with a globally operating contract manufacturer located in Allegheny County to identify a Production Supervisor. The successful incumbent will have a diversified position in this smaller operation ranging from 12 to 20 employees. The position offers a daylight schedule, with overtime as required.
POSITION The Production Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and ownership. Directing and coordinating activities of Production in processing materials or manufacturing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors: • Planning production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. • Resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs/overtime and prevent operational delays. Communicating issues to Plant Manager. • Inspecting machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. • Coordinating the re-surfacing/sharpening of tools to be used in the manufacturing process in a fashion to provide uninterrupted service to customer base. • Managing 12 individuals. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these shifts. • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED • High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience within a manufacturing operation. Associates degree preferred. • Prior experience using an MRP / ERP system. • Mechanical ability, troubleshooting ability. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or government regulations. • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. To effectively present and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff-members, and possibly customers. • Problem solving: ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems in a timely manner, both independently and in a group setting. • Oral Communication: ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive & negative situations, listen clearly and respond to clarify and to answer questions. • Visionary Leadership: ability to display passion, optimism, and inspires respect and trust. • Delegation: ability to delegate work assignments and match responsibility to appropriate employees, while giving authority to employees to work independently; set clear expectations and monitor delegated tasks; provide individual recognition for resumes. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
