SUMMARY We are working with a local community minded banking institution to identify a Corporate Risk & Audit Analyst. This is a growing banking institution who has doubled their asset size and will continue to grow as they keep an eye open for future acquisitions. The Corporate Risk & Audit Analyst will assist the Chief Risk Officer in development, implementation, oversight and reporting of the Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit functions of the bank. A working understanding of the business model and strategic direction of the bank, bank policies and procedures, and relevant laws and regulations will be needed in order to monitor, analyze, implement and report on the risk and audit functions.
POSITION Essential Responsibilities: • Understands how key risks and controls impact business from a credit, market / liquidity, business, operational accounting and / or system perspective. • Assists in the execution of monitoring programs to identify risk, including control assessments, as directed. • Makes recommendations to Chief Risk Officer on risk assessment, risk appetite, risk culture, top risk, emerging risk, by staying current with industry best practices or standards. • Effectively uses computer tools including automated software monitoring applications in performing, monitoring, and reporting activities. • Assists Chief Risk Officer in planning and implementing credit, capital, and liquidity stress testing. • Assists Chief Risk Officer in developing the annual audit plan and in evaluating and allocating resources for assigned projects in accordance with the plan. • Assists the Chief Risk Officer in evaluating the controls, including FDICIA, policies and procedures of the bank and making recommendations for improvement. • Assists the Chief Risk Officer in communicating and ensuring corrective actions are taken for any identified audit, control, procedural or training weaknesses in an effort to preclude regulatory violations. • Assist Chief Risk Officer with vendor management and insurance management functions. • Provides assistance to and coordination of external auditors and regulatory examiners as assigned by Chief Risk Officer. • Exercises a high level of accuracy, initiative, interpersonal skills and confidentiality while performing tasks in order to contribute to the success of the department and the organization. • Excellent quantitative and analytical background with a solid foundation in Excel and Access. • Performs reconcilements to ensure that the accuracy of the data used. • Ensures the test work performed and conclusions reached are adequately documented. • Performs research as directed; collects and analyzes data and produces written, tabular and visual material from research. • Maintains and uses knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to position responsibilities. • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance. • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in banking related risk and audit disciplines. • Must have experience from a similar position in the banking industry or auditing firm that caters to the banking industry. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
