Coach Development Teams and the broader organization (1) to maximize the value created by the Scrum Teams and (2) on highly effective inspection and adaption practices. What You Will Need To Do:
The Scrum Master serves the Product Owner in several ways, including:
Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team as well as possible;
Finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management;
Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items;
Understanding product planning in an empirical environment;
Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value;
Understanding and practicing agility; and,
Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed.
The Scrum Master serves the Development Team in several ways, including:
Coaching the Development Team in self-organization and cross-functionality;
Helping the Development Team to create high-value products;
Removing impediments to the Development Team’s progress;
Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed; and,
Coaching the Development Team in organizational environments in which Scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood.
The Scrum Master serves the organization in several ways, including:
Leading and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption;
Planning Scrum implementations within the organization;
Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development;
Causing change that increases the productivity of the Scrum Team; and,
Working with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
2+ years of experience serving in the role of Scrum Master for a Development Team
Extreme professional transparency in everything you do
Evidence of skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
The ability to distinguish between what "is Scrum" what is "not Scrum"
Software product development experience
Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Scaled Professional Scrum Certification (SPS)
Advanced Scrum Master certification (PSM II, PSM III, PST)
5+ years of experience serving in the role of Scrum Master for a Development Team
Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)
Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self study, etc.
Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Nexus, LeSS, SAFe, Crystal, FDD, etc
Experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
Previous experience as a collaborative leader
Previous industry experience in a healthcare environment
