Today, we are seeking a Director of Partnerships and Advertising to build sponsorship and advertising revenues to help maintain and expand our services.

Senior Director for Business Development and Advertising
The Senior Director for Advertising and Business Development is responsible for managing all aspects of the Council’s efforts to secure and retain sponsorships and advertising opportunities to support programs, publications and other broadcast and electronic media channels.
This position reports to the President and CEO (“Supervisor”).
Essential Functions include:
Develop core sales strategies to achieve the Council’s annual sponsorship and advertising goals.
Serve as a member of the management team and participate in strategic planning efforts, new initiatives and board meetings.
Implement an organized sales process that incorporates a pipeline management strategy for each of the relative advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
Manage key relationships with existing and prospective advertisers and sponsors. Conduct continuous client outreach.
Continuously document all relevant information regarding perspective and existing advertisers and sponsors utilizing the organization’s database system (IMIS) to track stage, status, dates, assessed needs, etc.
Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the Council’s programs team to provide regular sponsorship updates on a per-product basis.
Provide monthly reports to the CEO and publications team on all advertising related products.
Serve as a representative at PTC programs, events and other networking opportunities. This can include public speaking.
Attend community networking events to represent PTC and its media platforms.
Support the organization goals by conducting member outreach and record scorecard activity in IMIS.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Participate in the annual budgeting process for PTC sponsorship and advertising budgets.
Performance and Technical Skills Required for Success:
Strong organizational skills
Functional understanding or experience with CRM (“Customer
Relationship Management”) standard concepts, practices and procedures
Excellent verbal presentation skills
Experience in cold-calling
Sales calls and effective client interaction
Experience and Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field of study (or combination of appropriate experience/continuing education)
5 to 10 years experience in sales and/or marketing
Experience in advertising sales preferred
Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
Ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to
medium weights of 10 - 20 pounds
May require sitting for long periods of time
Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp
Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information
Will on occasion and with advance notice, may be required to work hours outside of the standard business hours as needed to provide our services (major events, breakfast briefings, etc)
Candidate must own, and be able to operate a motorized vehicle
Good driving record, vehicle and driver must be insured
Willingness to travel to any location within the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 13-county service region, in order to meet with members at their place of business.
