United States Steel is looking for a VOIP Administrator at our Pittsburgh location. Experienced VoIP telephony and video engineer to support administration and 24x7 delivery of voice and video services in a 22,000+ handset environment based on a combination of Cisco and Microsoft technologies. The position will be responsible for the planning, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and performance of several critical infrastructure systems that ensure the availability, security, adoption and consistent performance of our corporate collaboration systems: - Cisco based Call Manager (CUCM), Unity (Voicemail), Contact Center (Call center)
- Cisco WebEx based video conferencing systems
- Asterisk based audio conferencing bridge, IVR and ACD systems
- Microsoft Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams (instant messaging, presence, web conferencing)
This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Responsibilities: - System engineering and support of voice and video communication systems (SIP based), including upgrades and new implementations
- Evaluation, testing and deployment of new features and related products in Cisco and Microsoft portfolios
- Security posture and process improvements
- Troubleshooting complex system issues for end user resolution, acting as Tier 3 support, with ability to independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
- Troubleshoot service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
- Work with vendors on proactive and reactive (break and fix) system upkeep
- Partner with other business and IT units to evaluate and drive adoption of new capabilities
- Participate in the planning, evaluation, selection, and recommendation of initiatives related to Cisco and Microsoft collaboration technologies
- Maintain consistent, quality documentation to meet ongoing admin operations, customer service and business continuity requirements. Documentation will include system topologies, operating instructions and customer focused knowledge base
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members
Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer
- Engineering or related field
- Experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting VoIP telephony infrastructure, analog and digital circuits and related hardware, and voice related products such as conferencing, voicemail, ACD, etc.
- Experience with telephony products both legacy and SIP is a plus.
- Experience with routing and switching, networking technologies, including TCP/IP and DNS
- Experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting networking technologies such as Quality of Service on Cisco LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- PowerShell or general scripting experience
- Ability to organize and plan work independently
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, including identification of project scope, requirements, deliverables, and coordination of project design and implementation activities
- Strong exposure to IT customer service, strong interpersonal skills demonstrating excellence in approach with customers
Preferred Skills - 4+ years of Cisco Unified Communications systems administration experience
- 2+ years of Microsoft Skype for Business (Lync), Microsoft Teams or related administration experience
- 1+ years of Microsoft Active Directory experience
- Experience performing successful voice and video product upgrades
- Experience integrating disparate voice technologies and schemes into a single environment and dial plan
- Experience with and skills in advanced networking technologies such as MPLS and BGP
- Experience with telephony integrations such as: PBX, call recording, and emergency response systems
- Experience working with various desktop and server operating systems platforms
- Cisco or Microsoft certifications are a plus
- Experience implementing cyber security standards and security posture improvements with Cisco and Microsoft unified communications systems
- Ability to prepare project plans to communicate and track execution of technical and security driven initiatives
- Experience integrating differing computer systems in an enterprise environment
- Experience maintaining computing infrastructure in an industrial environment
