Product Manager - LS Job Purpose: Guides cross-functional team responsible for the complete customer experience, sets vision and strategy, defines features and requirements, and manages product life cycle for assigned product line(s). Principal (Essential) Duties: Work collaboratively with strategic partners to: - Identify market opportunities
- Identify customer/market problems
- Define product features and capabilities
- Collaborate with finance to determine Forecast Return on Investment and other key financial indicators
- Define product positioning, distribution, and pricing strategies
- Create sales or market share projections
- Drive product launches
- Manage the product life cycle
- Own and manage the product road map
- Develop thought leadership content
- Collaborate with sales and marketing communications to develop and execute launch and marketing plans
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D to deliver new and improved products to market in a timely manner
- Act as product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
- Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
- Act as expert on assigned market(s) including competition
- Train sales, field service, and other employees as needed
- Participate in speaking engagements including trade shows and industry events
- Travel to and engage with customers/market on a regular basis to train, collect and evaluate Voice of Customer (VOC) for products and market segments,
and develop relationships Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills including formal presentation and technical writing
- Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines, manage projects independently and handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
- Team-leadership skills; excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude
- Resourcefulness in solving problems; good judgment, and comfortable with decision making
- Superior professionalism and judgment with both internal colleagues and external customers
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail

- Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments
Experience/Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in sciences or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification
- Product Management Certification and/or MBA preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Product Manager or Marketing Manager in a related industry or equivalent experience
- Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining product strategies from innovation to end-of-life
- Experience working with direct sales and distribution groups
- Technical writing and communication skills necessary
- Proven experience in customer and market research
- Experience in medical device product management preferred
Working Conditions/ Physical Demands: Perform sedentary work - exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Travel up to 50% to conferences, trade shows and customers nationwide. See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; standing, walking and other similar tasks requiring physical activity. Operate standard office equipment including a computer, copier, fax, phone and other similar office equipment. Work setting is primarily office based but conditions may involve limited exposure to chemicals, emitted radiation, fumes, dust, odors, gases and other substances when in a laboratory environment.
