SUMMARY We are looking for a Safety / HR Administrator with a strong background in safety and manufacturing to join a small manufacturer in Clinton, NC. The incumbent of this position will be a people person who likes to spend time on the plant floor, has a passion for safety and instituting a safety first culture, and will enjoy having their hands involved in many areas as this site works towards their goal of tripling in size.
Reporting to the Plant Manager on site and an off-site HR Manager, in summary the Safety / HR Administrator will be responsible for the organization’s safety programs and plant level HR support.
POSITION Safety Responsibilities: • Manages Site Safety Plan, Safety Board and Communication. • Leads weekly Safety Committee Meeting. • Measures Safety Performance. • Serves as a company representative for investigations such as OSHA investigations, workers compensation, and unemployment claims. • Researches and recommends safety equipment. • Investigates documents, reports employee accidents to worker’s compensation carrier, and updates OSHA log.
Human Resources Responsibilities: • Advises managers on organizational policy. • Oversees disciplinary action and evaluations. • Studies and interprets laws such as EEO, anti-discrimination, ADA, FMLA, OSHA and FSLA. • Recruiting / Onboarding / Orientation in accordance with federal and state laws. • Promotes employee relations by serving as a confidant. • Identifies training needs (safety, leadership, language, and general employee development) and organizes the needed training. • Investigates documents, reports employee accidents to worker’s compensation carrier, and updates OSHA log (s). • Compiles reports and metrics regarding personnel data. • Serves as final approver of payroll and submits for processing. • Performs exit interviews and uses data to understand and minimize voluntary turnover. • Supports in the preparation of VISAs and other immigration matters when needed.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 3 years of experience related Safety / HR experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered. • Must have manufacturing industry experience. • Experience using ADP HRIS or E-Time highly preferred but not required. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
