SUMMARY We are partnering with a world class manufacturer who caters to the steel industry to identify a Shop Supervisor / CNC Programmer. This privately held company has a total of just under 100 employees across two locations in a manufacturing environment with foundry, machining, welding, and assembly operations.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shop Supervisor / CNC Programmer will supervise a shift consisting of approximately ten employees across CNC machinists, welders, foundry personnel, and a repairman. This is a salaried role offering a competitive base wage, full benefits package, and discretionary bonus.
POSITION • Program CNC Lathes and Mills (5 and 6 axis) using Mastercam and macros / generate CNC programs to machine required products. • Maintain log of all CNC programs. • Verify program (1st piece inspection). • Ensure timely production based on interactions and feedback with Production Supervisor. • Design required fixtures to aid in setup and clamping of parts. • Troubleshoot and problem solve machining times. • Instruct / train machine shop employees to operate all CNC equipment. • Establish machining times / estimates on new products / projects. • Coordinate outside machining services as required. • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedule for all machine shop equipment and coordinate program with Maintenance Department. • Assist with Develop, implement, maintain, and improve the procedures for managing tooling requirements. • Interpret / Understand all engineering drawings; view, read, write, print technical drawings and documentation.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 7+ years of experience of CNC programming and machining. • Must be proficient in programming CNC lathes and mills (5 and 6 axis) using Mastercam and macros. • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role. • College or Technical School Degree preferred. • Technical drawing and documentation reading and writing skills training. • ISO quality control system training. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
