We are in search of a highly-experienced, ambitious sales expert to lead, manage, and oversee the sales and marketing function. The Director of Business Development will report to the CEO and is a critical member of our Leadership Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales leader to contribute to the growth and evolution of our company.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading and managing all New Business Development and Marketing activities.
Lead, manage and accountable for all New Business Development and Marketing activities including: attaining sales goals, overseeing systems and processes and managing special projects.
Attend meetings with prospects and assist Business Development staff with selling efforts.
Review and approve proposals and Master Services Agreements.
Serve as an escalation point for New Business Development and Marketing problems and opportunities.
Lead and manage events, including: content selection, scheduling, promotion, registration, presentation, and post-event follow-up.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures for New Business Development and Marketing, maintain up-to-date SOP documentation, and ensure adherence to SOPs.
Lead regularly scheduled and adhoc department meetings.
Lead and manage Research & Development activities and continuous process improvement activities for the department, including: staff, training, hardware, software, vendors, etc.
Develop KPIs for the department, monitor performance, measure attainment, determine and implement any necessary corrective actions.
Responsible for department budget, including: salaries, commissions, overtime, management directed incentives, hardware and software tools, training, marketing and advertising, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Seven years of experience in outside sales, new business development and marketing.
Five years of leadership and/or management experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required. Proficiency with PowerPoint and Publisher is helpful.
Prior experience working with small and mid-size businesses in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is preferred.
Sales level certifications for various DELL, HP, Lenovo, SonicWALL, APC, Microsoft, VMware, Storagecraft and Datto products are preferred.

Work Environment, Location and Conditions:
Work is normally performed in an office setting. Some prospect work locations include manufacturing or warehouse environment. The noise levels in the work environment may vary, but are usually moderately quiet.
Work is normally performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Starting times normally vary between 7:30am-8:30am, and quitting times normally vary between 4:00pm-5:30pm. Occasional off-hours work may be required for special sales situations or attending networking events.
Work location varies day-to-day and throughout the day, split between working onsite at prospect offices and working at our office. Frequently attends local professional networking events, mixers and business social events. Local car travel in the Greater Pittsburgh area is regularly required (to go onsite to prospect offices and to attend professional networking events). Overnight and out-of-town travel is typically required once per year to attend an annual industry conference.
The employee is frequently required to sit, and use hands to operate computer keyboard, mouse, telephone and basic office equipment. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see and hear. Ability to drive a vehicle is required.
Additional Salary Information: This is a full-time position, with a competitive compensation including a base salary and commission.
