What Will You Do At Confluence?
As Confluence's Revenue Recognition Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
Reviews signed contracts for billing purposes
Generates all Confluence invoices
Calculate and record a variety of revenue streams in accordance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOP 97-2, SOP 98-9, ASC 605, ASC 606, and other relevant provisions and amendments.
Conduct revenue audits and prepare reports and financial data for revenue forecasting.
Works closely with a variety of functional groups across Confluence to provide contractual, invoicing, and revenue recognition data on a timely basis
Maintain close working relationships with both internal and external auditors regarding all audit requirements related to revenue and contractual obligations.
Track activities related to agreements and amendments with customers.
Assists in preparing standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
Establishes, maintains, and coordinates the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
Assists in preparation of monthly financial reports
Performs variance analysis of financial and non-financial trends as required
Works closely with Accounting staff to ensure proper handling of receivables transactions
Works closely with Controller to create and maintain accounting policies and procedures making recommendations for improvements as needed
Works closely with Controller to maintain accounting system, implementing changes in data flow and reporting structure
Makes recommendations for process improvements and policy changes to promote efficiency and effectiveness of accounting function
Sales & Use tax filings
Reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts as required
What Skills and Qualifications are We Looking For?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field.
Three or more years experience in accounting with emphasis on GAAP accounting principles.
International business and technology industry experience preferred.
Escalates appropriate issues to the next level, strong knowledge on project, takes ownership and accountability, and nurtures team building.
Strong understanding of the business model, how it applies to current position, what needs to be done to provide the greatest value, and how to leverage strengths at this level.
Building competencies and focusing on the right things.
Full working knowledge of NetSuite, and other related systems especially Invoicing and Reporting functions.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Proficiency with Crystal Reports.
General knowledge of other accounting processes.
Must possess exceptional organization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications capabilities required.
Thorough understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
Ability to deal professionally and courteously with internal and external contacts.
Team management skills.
Ability to analyze problems and identify resolutions at a strategic and functional level.
Ability to multitask, strong attention to detail, self-motivated willingness to take initiative.
Travel may be required.
