Under the oversight of the Chief Risk Officer, assume a leadership role in building an integrated enterprise risk management (ERM) program that effectively identifies, measures, monitors and controls risks.
Qualifications: * Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required. Advanced degree and risk management certification preferred. * Minimum 10 years of relevant banking experience, with at least 5 years in a risk management leadership position required. * Working knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and theories, such as the three lines of defense and guidance from Basel, COSO, and bank regulators. * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Strong initiative, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects concurrently. * Effective negotiation and influencing skills, including the ability to build a bro ad base of support among key decision makers and stakeholders * Experience leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional initiatives, and understanding of GRC tools and their implementation preferred * 3 years of operational risk management experience preferred.
Principle Activities and Duties: * Developing, maintaining, and continually improving key aspects of the ERM program, such as enterprise risk reporting, risk appetite, risk assessment methodology, and the material initiatives process * Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system * Providing counsel on risk management issues * Developing and conducting risk management training * Serving as the second line of defense risk officer for operational risk management (only if the candidate has 3 to 5 years of operational risk mgmt. experience, so not sure how to best handle this in th e job description) * Performing additional duties as required
