JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to turn and shape the tungsten carbide parts to specific work order size and detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools. This includes following prints and specifications to set up CNC machines such as Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Omni Turn, etc., to very close tolerances and to operate CNC machines for precision work.
RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES: • Perform typical machine shop operations using CNC machines. • Precisely measure cut products using calipers and rules before, during, and after each shaping step. • Monitor dust collection and move vacuum dust hood of cutting, grinding, or milling machine or lathe, to assure minimal carbide dust is released to the shop's atmosphere. • Track the amount of scrap generated to assure the maximum number of products are being generated and to minimize the amount of waste. • Adhere to all shop safety policies. • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
WORKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: • Climate controlled production facility • Worker is exposed to dust. Respirator is mandatory.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Must be able stand at your work station for extended periods of time • Must be able to lift 65 lbs.
