SUMMARY We are currently working with a leading manufacturer to identify a Production Planner. This organization is a subsidiary of a whole owned group, that still offers the family feel of working for a location of approximately 120 employees, but with the benefits of a well-respected, international corporation with sales offices across the globe, as well as an integrated source for materials from start to finish.
This is a job shop manufacturing environment and requires a Production Planner who has experience working in a manufacturing operation where the products are customized. The Production Planner will be responsible for scheduling shop floor activities throughout the plant to ensure maximum production, organization of activities, monitor production control activity, and coordinate the release of all production work orders to manufacturing.
POSITION • Responsible for establishing production schedules: considering factors of customer requests and demands, existing capacity and working w/Production • Interacts with shop floor management on a regular basis to resolve issues and achieve daily production requirements • Work with Inventory/Stockroom to fill material shortages • Analyze and prepare documents (work instructions, travelers, etc.) needed for production • Drive to achieve established targets for revenue, on time delivery and inventory reduction • Monitor and drive all open orders; Have detailed understanding of assigned backlog • Adjust scheduled ship dates with the ERP system in real time as needed; advise Sales of relevant changes • Assess feasibility of expedite requests • Assist Sales with forecasting and safety stock analysis • Give direction to Purchasing for component expedites and appropriate order quantities to ensure material availability • Perform data analysis and makes decisions to support raw material supply and finished goods demand. • Maintains the capacity and production plans and other reports as required • Works with corporate functions to ensure compliance with global processes and requirements, including on time reporting of all required KPIs • Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider those without a degree based on experience. • 2+ years of experience in a similar role. • Must have worked in a job shop-manufacturing environment with customized products. • Certification in APICS or CPIM desirable. • Experience with an MRP/ERP system. SAP highly preferred. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
