(NYSE: FII) one of the largest investment managers in the United States, with $460 billion in assets under management, is seeking an Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Funds Treasury team in our downtown Pittsburgh headquarters. Demonstrate your strong analytical and mathematical abilities through assisting to provide accounting and financial oversight of Federated’s mutual funds. What you can expect:
Reviewing daily performance information for each fund and providing appropriate notifications.
Analyzing dividend recommendations and preparing capital gain calculations for the funds.
Reviewing all fund accounting related data in form NMFP, all section 1276 market discount reclass adjustments, and monthly past due income reports.
Assisting with creating, recommending and implementing accounting and operational policies and procedures.
Reviewing monthly management and custody reports from the fund accounting service providers; researching and resolving outstanding issues.
Preparing and/or reviewing materials and financial information reports prepared for various Boards of Directors, committees, and governing bodies.
Reviewing monthly UCITS materials prepared by service providers and recommending appropriate changes.
Researching and evaluating new security holdings for proper accounting treatment.
Partnering with Management and Fund Tax to determine and document the appropriate distribution treatment of each security type.
Reviewing and/or preparing data for inclusion on shareholder 1099 statements and/or reporting on the annual ICI primary and secondary reports.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or Associates degree in business field and 5 years Federated experience; MBA or CPA preferred
5 years’ business experience required
Prior experience and high level of proficiency working with financial services fund administration; 3 years’ experience in mutual fund industry preferred
Strong decision-making, problem solving, and analytical skills
Strong math skills with demonstrated ability to provide a high level of accuracy
Collaborative attitude with effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneous and accomplish goals in a timely manner
