COOK Pittsburgh PA 15206 Contract position with potential for hire 16.00 per hour ServSafe Certification is PREFERRED
JOB DESCRIPTION • Reviews menus prior to food preparation • Utilizes standard recipes to prepare, cook, and bake foods in accordance with planned menus, sanitary regulations and established policies and procedures. • Ensures food is prepared to the proper temperatures by taking and recording food temperatures and times in accordance with HACCP standards • Prepares meals for residents on special diets due to pregnancy, health or religious considerations and for special occasions. • Assist in checking diet trays prior to distribution as needed. • Serve meals in accordance with portion control procedures and prepare food trays for residents restricted to the units and cafeteria. • Clean equipment, walls. Floors, tables, cutting boards, refrigerators, /freezers, ice machines, etc. • Wash and sanitize utensils, clean all dish room and pot room equipment and food carts in accordance with established policies and procedures. • Assist in the removal of all garbage and waste from the kitchen area and ensure that it is properly stored • To perform related work such as filing our requisitions for supplies, restocking all parties and work stations and ensuring that menu items are available for the following days meals • Disposes of food and wastes in accordance with established policies • Performs other related duties as required or requested.
REQUIREMENTS • Must have at least 2 years experience of professional cooking experience (preferably in a "facilities" setting) • Must submit to a criminal background check • Must have reliable transportation (this is not on a bus route) • ServSafe Certification is PREFERRED
