As a Sr. Mainframe Architect, you will take a lead role to develop and support a complex architecture strategy to meet business capabilities and needs. You will ensure the completeness of more complex architecture by adequately addressing all the essential concerns for your team.
Lead strategic consultation to business customers to design complex processes, functions, and organizational structures
Research and identify well-suited marketing technologies based on customer capability requirements
Organize the development of additional complex enterprise solutions that combine knowledge of processes and issues, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques
Participate in complex enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases, and business innovation portfolio development
Specify and design large or more complex systems, solutions, networks, infrastructure elements, or processes
Select appropriate design standards, methods, and tools and ensures that they are applied
Review others’ system design to ensure the correct selection of technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology
Establish a policy for the selection of complex architecture components
Evaluate and undertakes impact analysis on more complex major design options
Ensure that the system architecture balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements
Use appropriate tools, including models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of more complex architectures
Take a lead role to produce detailed component requirements, specifications and translates these into intricate solutions/designs for implementation using selected products
Advise on technical aspects of system development, integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and processes
Ensure that relevant technical and business strategies, along with standards are applied correctly
Select and use sophisticated tools and methods to establish and communicate the functional and non-functional requirements of system users, their characteristics, and tasks
Identify the physical environment in which more complex products or systems will operate
Modify existing process improvement approaches and develop new strategies for achieving improvement
Ensure the resolution of a variety of more complex architecture and business problems and serves as a technical or business lead for complex projects
Maintain in-depth knowledge of specific technical aspects in the area of expertise and provides advice regarding their application
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field, and/or equivalent work experience
Expert knowledge of complex SQL and optimization techniques
Familiarity with IBM ZOS, COBOL, DB2, IMS, and CICS
Understanding of new technologies and industry business trends and practices
