Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or related field; or equivalent work experience required
Management or supervisory experience required.
Responsible for planning and directing activities, and allocating and delegating work to staff.
Handle all aspects of personnel management including work assignments, performance reviews, salary administration, issue resolution and mentoring.
Responsible for working collaboratively across BISD groups and Federated business areas to actively participate in leading organizational priorities.
Responsible for maintaining a high-level understanding of those technologies and disciplines within their direct reports’ purview, and across the Enterprise.
Technology working experience with the following:
Windows Server and Linux Operating system experience
Red Hat Certified System Administrator or equivalent preferred
Microsoft Operations Manager, Nagios, Splunk, or similar monitoring product required
Virtualization, including VMware, KVM, or Xen preferred
LDAP, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Routing and Routed Protocols, and NFS preferred
Familiarity working with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure such as Nutanix preferred.
Familiarity with the CommVault Backup and Recovery or other industry standard backup and recovery products preferred
Experience with NFS File Storage devices preferred
Knowledge of storage virtualization including thin provisioning and data de-duplication preferred
The role encompasses information systems planning, installation, and maintenance, including hardware and software upgrades.
Provide technical leadership to develop business plans and/or lead solutions to complex technical problems across the Enterprise including database, network, storage, in house and third party developed applications.
Conduct problem analysis to improve TSG-CI department efficiencies and share best practices across BISD
Conduct high level technical and operational trending analysis to direct staff to conduct continuous improvement across computing Infrastructure systems and applications.
Lead the development of technical action plans to correct issues
Provide leadership for system administration functions of server administrators, and in support of network, storage and database administrators, related business areas and application teams
Determine technical thresholds for problem notification to avoid business impact and resolve issues proactively.
Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as role model and mentor. Guide direct reports with career development proactively providing feedback and conducting annual performance evaluations.
Manage critical operational duties such as on-call coverage and assignments.
Ensure that support model is properly designed and in place prior to production turnover of the standard SDLC process.
Maintain knowledge of standard industry architecture practices and patterns.
Work collaboratively with peer managers to support subject matter expert application and technical mentoring across the BISD organization.
May participate on teams or task forces related to improvement or strategic initiatives.
