As Data Technology Manager in Architecture Team within PNC's Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA
In the C&IB Technology Data Architecture organization, we are developing an integrated information collection and distribution model that is revolutionizing the way we utilize data as a strategic asset. As part of this initiative, we are deploying an innovative data architecture to support a wide range of initiatives in data science, predictive analytics, and machine learning. This initiative provides deeper insights into our data to enhance revenue growth, improve operational efficiencies, and develop innovative products for our customers. In this role, you will have an opportunity to lead a group of internal and external data engineers in build of our Hadoop environment which will strategically complement our existing structured / relational data investments.
Manages all aspects of a data warehouse such as data sourcing, migration, quality, design, and implementation. Directs and develops staff who are dedicated to the development, upkeep and integrity of data warehouses.
Oversees the work of IT and business customers in developing requirements and design specifications for complex data warehouse systems.
Leads and manages data warehouse staff while focusing on the development, maintenance and integrity of the organization's data warehouse.
Conducts performance reviews and determines professional development needs and opportunities for staff.
Identifies new initiatives and/or recommendations for database growth and integration.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Proven track record managing data-focused solutions utilizing Big Data / Hadoop Architectures and Relational Database technologies.
Technical background will include exposure and leadership on projects in Hadoop with technologies such as Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Pig, Kafka, Zookeeper, HDFS, HBase. (Cloudera experience is a plus). Experience with Python or Java programming is a plus.
Technical depth and breadth across emerging trends and methodologies in database development to facilitate analysis of structured and unstructured data on Hadoop environments and traditional SQL platforms.
Ability to lead technical staff, both internal resources and external consultants. Previous experience working closely with external vendors to internalize capabilities and build competency of internal staff in Big Data technologies.
Strong analytical skills to resolve technically complex problems and obtain end-user results.
Experience with data analysis in the financial services field is a plus.
