SUMMARY We are currently working with a privately held manufacturer in Butler County to identify a Controller. This company is a small manufacturing environment offering a laid-back culture where decisions are made with less formality in comparison to a larger organization, and all employees are highly encouraged to provide their feedback and suggestions for improvements. Given the small environment, you will have the chance to wear multiple hats and become involved in other parts of the organization. The Controller will report into the General Manager and in summary be responsible for guiding financial decisions, protecting assets, and monitoring/confirming financial condition of the Company. The Controller will supervise an Accounting Assistant and otherwise work very closely with others across inventory, purchasing, and shipping/receiving. They will also get involved with special projects as they surface, such as a current project of implementing a new ERP system as one example.
POSITION Responsibilities to include: • Prepare all financial statements and requested reports. • Bank reconciliation. • Prepare necessary documents for the bank. • Review inventory costs/reconcile inventory. • Oversee Accounts Payable – monitor daily cash flow; ensure all payments are made in a timely manner. • Oversee Accounts Receivable – manage invoicing; ensure that payments are collected punctually. • Manage all fees and external processing costs associated with financial management; including credit card fees, payroll fees, etc. • Effectively manage relationships with third party service providers; insurance, computer network and IT solutions, bank, etc. • Assist with internal and external audits. • Assist with meetings. • Responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing a variety of training and development programs and other programs as assigned. • Provide support to management. • Manage and assist with special projects as needed.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred. A combination of college and the appropriate experience will be considered. • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar level position within a manufacturing environment. • Candidates who are ready to take the next step up in their career to a controller level position will be considered. • Experience with MRP/ERP system(s). • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). • Strong analytical and decision-making skills. • Positive attitude with a team oriented spirit. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
