Position: Manufacturing Supervisor Location: Zelienople / Harmony, PA area Pay: $25.00 to $30.00/hour based on experience. Hours: M to F, first shift, 7 am to 3:15 pm. Job Description: The purpose of the Manufacturing Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the overall operations of the Department. The Manufacturing Supervisor coordinates the efforts of his team in such a manner to ensure that the proper objectives are established to meet production specifications, quality requirements and delivery expectations of the customer.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: â€¢ Responsible for the safe work behavior and conditions within the Team. â€¢ Meet production goals related to quality, safety, and production as established by the Operations Manager. â€¢ Work to establish continuous improvement of processes and product. â€¢ Uphold the standards and expectations of the Operations Manager. â€¢ Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to prioritize, coordinate and schedule production needs to meet production goals. â€¢ Communicate effectively with other Supervisors and Operations Manager. â€¢ Support all efforts associated with the Operations Manager by providing consistent communication, clear directives and ensuring all details and directives are in order. â€¢ Encourage and build trust, respect and cooperation with all team members. â€¢ Relate to all shop and office personnel in an ethical manner. â€¢ Maintain appropriate behavior and compliance with procedures and directives. â€¢ Maintains housekeeping within all work areas of the team. â€¢ Motivate team members to perform to the best of their abilities. â€¢ Assigns team to specific job tasks based on individual capabilities. â€¢ Inspire team to achieve and exceed established goals. â€¢ Facilitate communication among all members within the Team as well as across all teams. â€¢ Provide guidance and direction to team members by setting goals and monitoring performance. â€¢ Perceive problems as they develop and communicate such issues to the Operations Manager. â€¢ Demonstrate expected job duties to team members and observe the performance of the team to ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations. â€¢ Encourage all members of the shop to stay on task and remain at their workstations. â€¢ Confer with other Supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between work areas. â€¢ Interpret specifications, prints, job instructions, and company policies and procedures for employees. â€¢ Monitor quality standards and specification requirements. â€¢ Provide team members with work instructions and supplies necessary to complete work tasks. â€¢ Communicate any discrepancies or issues with jobs that impact quality, scheduling and/or delivery. â€¢ Communicate and enforce workshop policy, rules and requirements. â€¢ Discipline and document worker performance issues including but not limited to attendance, poor quality or safety performance or behavior. â€¢ Communicate employee and personal suggestions for enhancing efficiency, quality, safety and continuous improvement. â€¢ Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts and confer with management or subordinates to resolve these issues, if necessary. â€¢ Report, investigate and document all incident, accidents and injuries. â€¢ Comprehension and utilization of company database program and other computer applications as appropriate to position or indicated by Operations Manager. â€¢ Personal and team comprehension and verification of and adherence to specifications, layouts, details and bill of materials as indicated on prints and/or travelers. â€¢ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Education: â€¢ Bachelorâ€™s degree in Manufacturing or Welding Engineering or related field â€¢ CWI or CPWI Certified â€“ Instruction & Inspection â€¢ Prior experience in steel fabrication environment preferred â€¢ Minimum of 5-7 years in a technical role associated with welding processes â€¢ Prior Leadership experience and demonstrated leadership skills â€¢ Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices
