Provide 3rd tier support and troubleshooting for the corporate fleet of Windows 7/10 Enterprise PCs/VDIs along with some Macintosh support…Pyramid Consulting Group has a Pittsburgh client with an immediate need for an experienced WNDOWS SUPPORT ENGINEER to deal with the unique and difficult problems the help desk and lower technical support tiers are unable to solve. The candidate in this role will be expected to take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution. This includes hosting conference calls with end-users and vendors, performing deep-dive troubleshooting and research, documenting solutions, and ensuring preventive measures are in place to prevent recurrence. Prior experience supporting Windows PCs in a locked-down, corporate environment is preferred. Macintosh support is a secondary, but required, part of the role. The candidate will be part of an on-call rotation, therefore some off-hours and weekend availability is required. Responsibilities include: * Provide escalated support for an environment of approximately 80,000 Windows 7/10 Enterprise PCs (Dell/Lenovo), 500-700 Macintosh devices, as well as persistent and non-persistent virtual desktops (VMWare Horizons) * Troubleshoot a variety of application and connectivity issues. Engage other support teams or external software vendors as required. * Support applications and hardware on the Macintosh platform * Test & maintain Macintosh builds via Apple SUS and JAMF's NetSUS The client is looking for the following knowledge and skills: * Windows 7/10 Enterprise * Apple Macintosh OS * Apple Deployment/Management tools: Apple SUS, JAMF's NetSUS * Microsoft SCCM 2012 & WSUS * Microsoft PowerShell * Microsoft Shared File Services & Client * Active Directory, Group Policy * Symantec Endpoint Protection * Automated PC/Mac Imaging Procedures * General Knowledge of Corporate Applications: Microsoft Office 2013, Adobe Products, Policy-Controlled Internet Browsers (IE11, Chrome, Edge, Safari), SharePoint * General Networking Knowledge: DHCP, DNS, IP Addressing, VPN Connectivity, Firewalls, Wi-Fi Configuration * General PC Hardware Knowledge: BIOS, Video, USB, NIC, and all associated drivers * Strong PowerShell scripting skills * Experience troubleshooting and interacting with 3rd party hosted services (Exchange, Office, Skype, OneDrive) * Mobile Email/Calendaring Apps (MaaS 360) * At least 5+ Years of Windows Support in a Corporate Environment * At least 2-3 years of experience supporting Apple Macintosh
