Responsible for the Company's enterprise wide data and information strategy, governance, control, policy development, and effective leverage. They will be a champion for global data management, governance, quality, and vendor relationships for data across the enterprise. Accountable and responsible for information protection and privacy, information governance, data quality and data life cycle management, along with leveraging data assets to create business value. The Data Leader will provide vision and strategy for all data management activities to drive the information and analytics strategy.
*Job Responsibilities :
Establish data policies, standards, organization, and enforcement of Enterprise Integration Management concepts. Oversees and reports on data metrics with executive level responsibility for enterprise information/data management budgeting and initiatives
Organize and implement policies, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities that outline and enforce rules of engagement, decision rights, and the accountabilities for the effective management of information assets.
Analyze and determine the Company¿s current data quality and maturity levels to make recommendations for future initiatives
Establish enterprise process and controls ¿ Including a uniform and repeatable system development lifecycle methodology. For instance, there's a common set of standards for data naming, abbreviations, and acronyms.
Establish an architecture and a collection of integrated decision-support applications and databases ¿ providing the business community easy access to business data.
Partner with Data Intelligence team to create and implement a data warehousing strategy that may include a single massive database or a collection of data marts that are integrated. The data warehouse strategy should provide consistent, clean, and integrated data for executives to make more informed decisions.
Establish master data strategy for real world entities, customers, products, employees, suppliers, etc. Master data management should leverage a range of tools to implement, capture, integrate, and share information.
Establish a high-level conceptual data model showing core business objectives (entities) and their data relationships. Deliver value by discovering and resolving data discrepancies among different views of the same data.
Identify and capture the right types of metadata ¿ such as business names, definitions and valid domain values; or perhaps ownership (CFO, HR); or security settings (public, company confidential, HR only, senior management). Work with Legal and the information security team to ensure policies are enforced and any new state regulations are incorporated in the policy and enforced.
Create inventory of all that unstructured data, determine its format, security, ownership, quality and new storage needs. Determine which unstructured data should ¿ and shouldn't ¿ be captured.
Weigh in variables like privacy, security, compliance, ownership, and performance questions for moving data off premises to a cloud services provider (CSP)
Build business performance dashboards via business performance management system to provide timely information and insights to employees in improving decisions, optimize processes and plans.
Determine and enforce specific security and privacy requirements for each piece of data ¿ especially as it relates to privacy laws, industry regulations, customer privacy policies and corporate compliance mandates.
Document how data is governed, including policies and procedures that can be shared in training materials; glossaries; name and contact rosters. Gather information from employees heads to deal with day-to-day problems and more.
Work with CIO, CFO and CEO to align business and technology initiatives for transformation roadmap and credibility for project execution.
*Experience Required :
Over 10 years
Vast experience building and leading data science organization/s or practices as well as successful experience evangelizing/advocating for data analytics value across a business and to diverse audiences.
Highly skilled in the design, development, and validation of descriptive, predictive, prescriptive, and applied analytics.
Proven career and successful experience in a consulting role for senior business leadership and executives
Experience with hands-on leadership roles directly managing data and analytics teams, and driving change within a large, complex business.
