Are you interested in a position that offers an opportunity to gain broad tax, finance, and business exposure while providing data to help executives and investors make business decisions? This role supports Alcoa’s critical tax accounting and tax rate forecasting work. The ideal candidate has strong experience in income tax accounting and advanced Excel skills and should be comfortable building relationships across the Finance department and beyond.
Quarterly review of both domestic and foreign tax provisions and their impact on the consolidated AETR
Monthly review of Global balance sheet tax accounts
Providing the relevant tax information included in the quarterly 10Q and annual 10K filings with the SEC, including all related year-end tax footnote disclosures
Significant interaction with personnel both inside the Pittsburgh Tax Department as well as Tax Managers/Controllers throughout the world
Additionally, there will be significant interaction with individuals in both the Controllership and Finance, Planning and Analysis Groups (as well as other Departments)
Preparation of supporting documents/slides to be included in CFO presentations
Preparation of ad hoc ‘what if’ scenarios for Senior Management and Board discussions
Serve as a point person for tax accounting/provision questions/concerns that affiliates may have
Serve as contact with independent auditors answering questions and providing necessary support on quarterly/annual basis
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance from Accredited Institution
3 - 6 years of experience working with ASC740 (FAS109) in public accounting and/or in multinational corporation
Excellent interpersonal skills (both written and oral)
Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks concurrently
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
Meticulous attention to detail
CPA and/or MST
Experience with US outbound international tax law and foreign tax law in one or more jurisdictions
Experience with Hyperion/SmartView a plus
