SUMMARY We are currently working with a privately held manufacturer in Butler County to identify a Sales Manager.
This company is a small manufacturing environment offering a laid-back culture, highly team- oriented environment, where decisions are made with less formality in comparison to a larger organization, and all employees are highly encouraged to provide their feedback and suggestions for improvement. This company’s products have a competitive edge over others in their industry. They outrank their competitors in the area of quality, partner closely with customers to ensure past product failures will not occur again, provide faster turn-around times outside of typical lead times, and their customer service is top notch.
In summary, the Sales Manager will be responsible for new business development as well as maintaining existing customer accounts. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, and apply technical product knowledge, to ultimately provide solutions to customers’ technical issues and product needs.
The ideal incumbent of this position will have a “hunter” mentality with a successful track record of new business development and positive customer relationships.
Comprehensive training will be provided to develop a complete understanding of the company’s products and applications, manufacturing capabilities, quality, quoting, order processing, and expectations of how customers are to be managed.
POSITION Responsibilities include: • Proactively seek out potential customers and generate new business opportunities • Organize marketing strategies as well as connect with potential customers and develop strong relationships • Build / Maintain customer information and market data • Assist customers with technical questions and designs • Effectively communicate with customers and respond to customer communication in a timely manner • Assist vendors and purchasing to address part issues, defects, and cost reduction • Oversee and provide regular updates to leadership on status and progress of the department • Document control • Travel to customers and trade shows as needed (minimal travel required)
CORE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered • 5+ years of successful sales experience in a manufacturing environment with a technical product • Ability to read blueprints • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Experience with CRM software and ERP systems highly preferred • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
