SUMMARY We are currently working with a privately held, family-oriented manufacturer to identify a VP of Sales. This position is a very hands on role where the VP of Sales will work hands on with the team to mentor and coach, and drive results to achieve the strategic growth plan.
Reporting to the President, the VP of Sales is a member of the Executive Steering Committee and is responsible for strategic vision and developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. Will assist in initiating a strengths-based organizational development from within the company, while managing to continually create an atmosphere which cultivates a familial and continually positive learning world-class environment.
POSITION Responsibilities include: • Oversee and manage the Corporate Sales Team to meet or exceed established corporate goals. • Work with Engineering / Quoting to ensure timely and accurate quoting and with Marketing on a plan that will result in sales growth in support of the strategic plan. • Oversee and manage the daily operation of Corporate Sales, with the primary focus on “Customer Service”. • Oversee and mentor identified Team Members to ensure the long-term viability of the corporation. • Lead the development of the sales plan (including detailed account strategies and budget) to maintain and grow the business in support of the strategic plan. • Lead the monthly update of the S&OP sales forecast. • Maintain current and establish solid long-term customer relationships. • Lead the Corporate Sales Team to secure new product-line sales in support of strategic plan. • Coordinate sales activity with warehouse distribution channels. • Coordinate order entry and date management with production and purchasing. • Oversee supplier-managed inventory programs with Stocking Program Manager, production and purchasing. • Work with accounting to address and resolve credit issues. • Oversee the development, implementation, use and maintenance of the CRM data. • Work with pricing team to establish competitive pricing. • Pursue continuing education applicable to this position that will enhance company’s position in the global marketplace.
CORE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. • 10+ years of proven experience in the areas of sales / revenue growth, sales management, and building teams. • Must have experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment with an engineered product. • Experience in the steel / metal industry ideal. • Strong leadership qualities, including being hungry, hone-able, and honorable. • Proven experience motivating / adding value to people and creating a team element. • Working knowledge of ERP & CRM systems. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
