Job Responsibilities and Duties The Drafter will be part of the hardware development group, helping to produce custom aviation autonomy systems. The Drafter will work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to create drawings and manage configuration information. Primary stakeholders will be in the production and testing groups.
The Design Drafter is a pure technical position performing drawing and configuration management tasks. The position includes only limited design tasks and no management capacities.
A summary of responsibilities includes:
Creating drawings for:
Assemblies, including exploded views and assembly instructions
Contributing to configuration management
Managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Assigning and tracking part numbers
Tracking updates and as-built changes
Qualifications and Skills
Associate degree or higher, preferably in drafting or mechanical engineering.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies.
2D drawings to support fabrication and assembly, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency with Solidworks.
