Design and implement monitoring/troubleshooting tools for performance of our enterprise software applications that support and add value to Respironics’ ventilators and devices that treat OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea). The candidate will have the opportunity to work as a full stack engineer on modern Microservices architecture and cloud-based enterprise application.
You are responsible for
Providing in-depth analysis and resolution of complex software issues being experienced by customers globally
Developing monitoring tools for medical software and associated requirements and designs
Defining, tracking and communicating key customer problems, including facilitation of technical deep-dive, root cause analysis etc. with other technical leaders/members
Working with cross-functional teams to ensure customer problems are completed to resolution
Serving as a subject matter expert to ensure there is appropriate monitoring throughout our enterprise software applications
Proactively identifying and mitigating technical problems

Our customer-facing application developed by this organization is critical to customers and is, in many instances, the deciding factor in the buying process. The Field Engineering group is focused on identifying software issues and needs experienced by customers and developing software solutions to address those needs in a timely fashion
This role will initially be based in our Murrysville office. Philips will be relocating this office to a new site in Bakery Square, one of the premier locations in Pittsburgh. This is a very exciting time to be joining Philips, as this new location will be the Sleep & Respiratory Center of Excellence. The new office is set to open in late 2020.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science or similar technical field
5+ years of professional experience building Enterprise applications using Java/C#
Experience with Micro-services Architecture applications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
Experience with messaging techniques such as RabbitMQ, MSMQ
Experience with source control tools such as Git, TFS
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Scrum/Agile software development process
Experience with any of the following will be considered a plus:
Application Performance Monitoring tools such as New Relic, App Dynamics
Experience with issue/defect tracking tools like Rally, JIRA
Developing medical related products
Working directly with customers to resolve complex issues
