SUMMARY We are currently working with a smart technology service company to identify an experienced Senior Accountant. This company is one of the nation’s largest and most highly regarded companies in their industry. In summary, the Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager, and be part of a team consisting of eight other accountants and sr. accountants. The purpose of the role is to provide a broad range of accounting related services that support the accounting department as well as the organization. The Senior Accountant will have contact with various managers/directors across multiple departments within the organization.
We are looking for an experienced accountant who will have the ability to: • Jump in quickly on a variety of special short- and long-term projects and help reevaluate how they can be improved upon • Work as a liaison between the finance and IT departments to dig into their systems, test current processes, and determine best new practices.

POSITION Responsibilities include: • Prepare journal entries, reconcile/balance general ledger accounts, research/correct posting discrepancies and provide accounting support for internal customers. • Assist or prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting package accurately, timely, and in accordance with the established closing schedule. • Review/verify the accuracy of journal entries, cost allocations and accounting classifications assigned to various records when performing financial variance reviews or flux analysis. • Work with other departments, locations, and divisions across the Company to implement, update, and refine, related accounting policies and procedures. • Coordinate or assist with the annual external financial audit as needed. • Train entry and mid-level accounting staff. • Assist in the routine assessment of cost allocations to ensure accuracy and relevance given existing business conditions and practices. • Assist in the completion of various accounting and finance ad hoc projects as requested by management. • Develop procedures to improve efficiency. • Maintain company accounting procedures and processes. • Assist with implementing the effects of newly established accounting pronouncements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, audit, and cost accounting. • Experience with JD Edwards or other large automated accounting system a plus. • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, & Word. • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment coupled with high attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of individuals across all levels and within various departments. • CPA, CMA, or CIA preferred. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment national criminal background check and drug screen.
