Direct hire opportunity with our engineering client for a Database Administrator.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, performance, integrity and security of database and data center.
Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
Install, upgrade and manage database applications
Develop processes for optimizing database security, manage database access, and assist in database design.
Set and maintain database standards
Performance tuning of database systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Set up and test new database and data handling systems.
Monitor database efficiency and evaluating database software purchases.
Sustain the security and integrity of data.
Maintain the integrity and performance of customer databases.
Provide on-call support as needed
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
4+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred
Technical experience in the following areas:
Linux and Windows Server environments
database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB).
cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
administering complex (enterprise-level) SQL Server environments
variety of hardware configurations (RAID, SAN, etc.)
Experience with 24x7 production support.
Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools.
Advanced T-SQL scripting skills
Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
