Linux IT Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance of an EpiCenter production environment as well as related systems. EpiCenter is a Software-as-a-Service system provided to public health to monitor healthcare-related data.  The system connects healthcare to public health by gathering data from hospitals, urgent care centers and physician offices.  

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

• Ensure the smooth operation of the EpiCenter system, which is a Java / Javascript application that is deployed on Ubuntu Linux via the Tomcat container, and runs against a PostgreSQL database

• Maintain and monitor EpiCenter, which will require understanding of Bash scripts, package maintenance, Tomcat deployment

• System monitoring through a combination of SNMP and scripting reporting to the Zenoss open source package

• Routine maintenance using Bacula for backups and updating operating system patches will be required

• Conform to company information security programs

• Adhere to all standards and improve the process in common sense ways
