The Manager, Senior Leadership Development develops and advances the leadership development strategy to achieve the Oncology Nursing Society's goals around developing members and preparing individuals to serve in leadership roles. The role builds, maintains, and continually advances the overall leadership development offerings inclusive of learning programs, performance support tools, assessment solutions, and new innovations to build leadership capabilities and capacity. This role has significant interaction with national leaders, members, customers, staff, and outside vendors.
This role is expected to start in late September/early October 2020.
Responsibilities and Duties
Designs, develops, and evaluates a suite of leadership development solutions that support individuals throughout the leadership life cycle. These offerings may be internal and external, inclusive of learning programs, performance support tools, assessment solutions, custom coaching plans and new innovations to build leadership capabilities and capacity in the leadership pipeline.
Leads the ONS Leadership Development Committee (LDC) volunteers in preparing members to serve on the ONS Board of Directors. Prepares LDC committee members to effectively coach and mentor members to be active, competent, and efficacious Board members. This includes coaching the LDC to develop processes which aid in identifying high potential talent and efforts to keep the talent engaged in the leadership path.
Responsible for developing an engaging and inclusive volunteer program. Performs oversight, recognition, and evaluation to ensure an equitable, fair, positive, and consistent volunteer experience for the lifecycle of the volunteer experience. Recruits and connects individuals to opportunities for mentoring, national leadership, project teams, advisory panels and other opportunities. Responsible for finding and developing new opportunities for volunteers to engage with ONS. Establishes feedback loops between participants and ONS, maintaining a repository for feedback on both volunteers and the volunteer experience.
Performs market, industry, and consumer research in order to identify leadership development trends. Conducts needs assessments and gap analyses, fusing them with market/industry/consumer research to develop and advance the global leadership strategy.
Manage vendor relationships with 3rd party leadership development suppliers while continually assessing and exploring new opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Business (i.e., Organizational Development, Management, etc.), Communications, or Nursing required.
Minimum of five years of working in a complex organization with successful interactions and effective relationships across functions, regions, and business units.
Minimum three years working with executive teams/C-suite level leadership.
