A senior programmer position is now available for a DOD funded multi-year project. This programmer will assume primary responsibilities for implementing the procedures, models, algorithms, and methods and conducting machine learning oriented research and experiments as described in the proposal and/or deemed necessary by the PI of the project to develop, optimize, and evaluate deep-learning based prediction models DNM_RF and DNM and the user friendly analytics for making personalized prediction of breast cancer metastasis and to compare the performance of the deep learning based models with that of other machine learning methods in the comparative studies.
The work should be done in a timely fashion by following closely the timelines and milestones as described in the Statement of Work (SOW). The programmer will solely work with and report to the PI and will provide and present detailed work progress and results as required to the PI weekly and upon request. Other duties include developing and maintaining a project website, and establishing and maintaining the project code library and shared code repositories.
Minimum 5 years of work experience as a formally-employed programmer, and minimum 3 years of work experience in deep learning as a formal employee. B.S. in computer science or equivalent field. Must demonstrate a solid foundation in computer science, program expertly in Java (current Java certification is a plus) , python, and R, and effectively utilize a code repository. Must be familiar with HTML, XML, and at least one web development framework or system. Must have expertise working in both Windows and Unix/Linux-based IT infrastructure. Programming Experience in Bayesian network methods and analyzing large-scale biological and clinical data sets is desired.
