Identifies, interprets, translates, documents and flowcharts programming logic and calculations for critical business processing systems across multiple platforms and languages. Analyzes functions at FedEx Ground to identify risk areas, researches and proposes initiatives to reduce company risk, and develops and implements solutions that significantly improve the internal control environment. Manages projects and initiatives and directs the efforts of internal teams and consultants to meet project goals. Initiates and leads investigations in collaboration with various departments such as Legal, Compliance and others as necessary. Develops and automates any necessary data analytics tests for continuous control monitoring.
Interviews IT management and developers to model data flows across multiple platforms for critical business systems.
Translates and interprets programming code to identify programming logic to evaluate functionality.
Documents and flowcharts programming logic and system calculations for business processing systems such as customized versions of PeopleSoft.
Converts Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) and System Requirements Specifications (SRS) documents into flowcharts and narrative to be utilized by Internal Control Analysts.
Manages projects and initiatives; facilitates team efforts, helps to define project goals, establishes timelines, indentifies resource requirements and planning.
Directs the efforts of consultants and ensures that they meet contractual obligations.
Acts as a liaison between Settlement department and various other departments including Legal Compliance, IT, and others as necessary. Actively monitors the FedEx Ground environment for control weaknesses and leads all efforts to close any controls gaps.
Defines technical standards, procedures and appropriate system architecture for projects while developing new approaches and methodologies to enhance the IT systems control environments. Consults on controls with functional areas and IT.
Maintains strong internal control, regulatory and information technology awareness by attending relevant conferences, seminars, and research and development opportunities. Builds, automates, and continuously monitors data analytics tests and predictive models. Initiates and leads investigations in collaboration with various departments such as Legal Compliance and others as necessary.
Utilizes sophisticated visualization tools like Spotfire and Tableau to share findings with a varying audience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field required.
Ten (10) years experience required in Information Technology or related area; prior experience in IT Project Management or IT Management strongly preferred.
Required Skills, Abilities and / or Licensure
Extensive IT knowledge of numerous systems and programming languages such as Java, Python, Web Development languages. Excellent programming skills. Demonstrated knowledge with object oriented languages such as C, C++, C#, Object-C. Advanced expertise in object oriented software design and development.
Excellent knowledge with Database/Server Administration Tasks.
Excellent analytical, time-management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with all professional levels within a diverse work group.
Experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP systems.
Knowledgeable with iSeries hardware platform.
Expert in Microsoft Excel, Visio, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent knowledge in visualization tools like Spotfire and Tableau.
Knowledge with statistical tools and scripting languages such as SAS.
Ability to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills in new technologies as necessary.
