Proposal/ Sr. Proposal Specialist

What we are looking for:

Federated Hermes is seeking a talented project manager, marketer, communicator and writer to join our Proposal team.  This person will contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by partnering with Sales, Investment Management and various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to expand Federated Hermes’ client base by responding to RFPs for new business opportunities.  This role requires you to efficiently marshal resources, research relevant technical information, and develop proposals under tight deadlines.

What you will be doing: 

• Manage and drive the proposal development and review process for new business opportunities
• Craft and edit written responses to best position Federated Hermes’ capabilities as solutions to clients’ investment needs
• Build relationships with key stakeholders in product, investment management, marketing, sales and other key business units to create compelling, product specific and industry-related value propositions for inclusion in proposals for new business
• Effectively communicate project plans for each assigned document, identifying tasks, assigning owners and mapping out timelines
• Prioritize responsibilities to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects, groups and activities within client-directed deadlines
• Secure executive, legal and financial review and approvals as appropriate
• Contribute to proposal core content development and enhancements

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business, English, Marketing or related field required; graduate degree preferred
• Minimum of two years of relevant business experience required; five years of progressive experience in proposals (RFPs), marketing or sales related business development activities preferred; proposal writing experience for the investment management industry preferred
• Experience coordinating and managing complex projects required
• Familiarity with Federated Hermes’ products and the investment management business preferred
• Strong proficiency in MS Office products required; understanding of Content Management Systems such as Loopio or Qvidian, preferred
• A cooperative attitude and effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines
• Strong writing and editing skills
• In due time, an understanding of the interrelationships of philosophy, process, objectives, strategies and characteristics of a multitude of investment products to satisfy prospective client requests for information and investment solutions
• Decision making, problem solving and analytical skills with particular attention given to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment
