The Data Strategy and Governance Manager, will be responsible for planning and leading the Data Governance and Data Service programs across departments. You will work with leaders to establish and operate an evolving collaboration of data stewards, data consumers, and analysts to enable data sharing and analytics for the institution with the ultimate goal of supporting business leaders in using data to make decisions and analyze performance. RESPONSIBILITIES - Champion the Data Stewardship Committee, influence and educate partners on Data Governance
- Develop a data service program and establish an overall framework and processes for the creation and maintenance of standard definitions, metadata, and data management and sharing practices
- Develop and ensure the successful completion of schedules, timelines, planning, and documentation
- Ensure continuous improvement, maintaining current knowledge of partner needs, challenges, and opportunities, and also staying ahead of meaningful industry and technology advances
- Develop data management standards and policies to ensure data quality, stewardship, regulatory compliance, and issue resolution
- Actively connect with staff and senior leaders to increase their awareness of data governance, data management, and quality improvement efforts
- Solid knowledge of data governance practices, concepts, and technologies related to data quality, storage, protection, and dissemination.
- Knowledge of database concepts, Information Management, Analytics, Business Intelligence, Reporting, and Integration technologies
REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Business Management, Computer Science
- Dynamic professional work experience related to program management with a history of success with IT data analytics and governance
- Experience leading projects and multi-functional teams in a complex IT environment
- Experience in a higher education environment is preferred
- PMP certified; Project experience in agile environment
