Manage the day-to-day activities of the Applications Department responsibilities…Pyramid Consulting Group has a Pittsburgh client with an immediate need for an experienced APPLICATIONS MANAGER. Responsibilities include:

*Participate in budgeting and planning activities for the development of the department.
* Identify opportunities for automated process improvements.
* Provide hardware and software evaluations and recommendations.
* Directs development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices.
* Actively participate in personnel development and ensure adequate training for personnel.
* Ensure project tasks are being completed on time and meet the expected quality standards.
* Aid in supporting validation processes through qualification lifecycle, vendor audits, and internal audits.
* Establish best-practices for planning, managing, implementing, and support for automated systems.
* Apply appropriate risk management techniques to ensure product, project and processes are developed in a timely manner and meet quality objectives.

The client is looking for the following background and skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field; Business; Life Sciences or consummate experience to provide a comparable background.
* At least 7 or more years of related experience in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) preferred
* Knowledge of the investigation, evaluation, interpretation, and classification of business data; the ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.
* Expert-level knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to implementing systems and application development projects and programs.
* Knowledge of data integrity concerns and regulations
* Knowledge of 21 CFR part 11 and related guidance is a plus
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment (Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Financial) is a plus as well as Manufacturing
* Experience working with ISPE GAMP 5 and GxP preferred
* Experience working with LabWare, MasterControl, Sage X3 ERP is a plus
