| The position requires a collaborative and proactive person who can work well with those at all levels of the organization. To succeed in this role, you will need to excel in both team-oriented and individual contributions in the following areas: Designing, configuring, coding, testing, and deploying software applications. The Django Developer will be working primarily with the team to design, develop and implement innovative web services and applications for media distribution. Familiarity with social media platforms and mobile applications is desirable. Use of web technologies and knowledge of popular third party APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) is desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS - Solid real-world experience developing web applications and services
- Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns
- Experience with, Python, Django Web Framework and HTML5 and CSS3
- Basic MySQL queries/joins, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line
- Familiarity with REST architecture and OAuth
- Experience with Django application deployment to Cloud platforms - specifically AWS
- Knowledge of JS front-end framework - specifically React
- Knowledge of PHP frameworks - specifically Zend / Laminas
- User interface development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, jQuery UI
- Experience with version control systems (especially Git or Mercurial)
- Third-party API integration (REST, XML-RPC)
- PCI compliance and best practices
- Other nice to haves:
- Stripe Subscriptions
- Celery and RabbitMQ
- Braintree payments API
- Experience with test-driven development practices
