Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for nearly half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Automation Engineer for this exciting role. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, change control, and support using MSA’s Workload Automation Scheduling (BMC Control-M) system, which defines factory operational processes. You will be working with application and system owners across the organization to design, configure and schedule production batch jobs across a multi-platform enterprise infrastructure. The Senior Software Automation Engineer will be responsible for defining and understanding work processes, job plan dependencies, and to help enforce production control policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - Provides technical delivery direction and oversight for automation platform management including architect, design, develop, deploy and sustain solutions that meet business needs while maintaining design integrity and adhering to best practices
- Responsible for designing, implementing and supporting a Control- M environment that will support multiple applications.
- Must be able to illustrate subject matter expertise in the workload automation space with complete knowledge of the enterprise scheduler environment.
- Execute best practices to ensure high availability for the application environments.
- Responsible for delivering business automation improvements and maximizing the utilization of Enterprise Scheduling.
- Responsible for development, implementation, and oversee policies and procedures to Control-M best Practices that meets application performance and uptime requirements.
- Capacity planning, performance analysis, and developing business continuity recovery plans
- Lead high performance team delivery using Agile and DevOps practices, creation of procedures, implementation of processes, automation and development of staff for managing and maintaining various automation systems
- Collaborate with application and product managers, software developers and other stakeholders to design appropriate automation across multiple software applications. Perform business analysis to gather functional requirements for software applications under development for automation.
- Provide technical leadership and promote the strategic vision and benefits of applications as well as seeking continuous infrastructure improvement opportunities.
- Integrate research, best practices and independent judgement while leveraging latest technologies and software development methods and practices to provide or recommend the best automation solutions for new software applications or continuous improvement and problem avoidance of existing software applications
- Drive enterprise direction for multiple middle tier platforms (roadmaps, vendor relationships, technology selection)
- Perform investigations, review audit and control processes, change management, process architecture, and other automation issues. Report results and identify solutions where applicable.
- Train, mentor and lead software automation team members as well as development teams on the best practices for using automation software.
