An established construction firm, located in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an experienced Project Manager.
Oversees all aspects of construction projects, including project profitability, resource allocation, quality control and client relationship management. The person in this position takes ownership of projects and is accountable for the budgets, schedules and quality of the projects. The candidate will serve a key leadership role for the project team consisting of field superintendents, foremen, project administrative assistant, subcontractors and vendors.
Maintains culture of client service and professionalism among all parties at jobsites, including tradesmen and subcontractors.
Oversees superintendents and foremen to ensure company safety policies and OSHA regulations are enforced for all parties on sites, including Company’s employees and employees of subcontractors.
Assists project superintendents/foremen in planning labor requirements for self-performed work and provides labor forecasts to project manager and/or general superintendent so tradesmen can be allocated to the projects.
Conducts coordination meetings with owner, architects and subcontractors as required and prepares meeting minutes.
Prepares and updates CPM project schedules using P6 Scheduling software, in conjunction with field superintendents.
Manages project costs to provide best value to clients.
Tracks material lead times and delivery dates to ensure project schedules are met.
Prepares and tracks weekly production reports for self-performed work and ensures production targets are met; collaborates with field personnel to address any potential productivity issues.
Identifies change conditions and prepares change order proposals and negotiates change orders with Owner and Architects as required.
Prepares Requests for Information (RFI’s).
Prepares submittals and reviews submittals from subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and coordination between trades with project requirements and coordination between trades.
Conducts detailed scope review of subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepares subcontracts and purchase orders.
Provides mentorship to less experienced project management team members.
May assist estimating department in preparing cost estimates for new projects, soliciting subcontractors and vendors, etc.
Approximately 25% travel will be required primarily throughout PA, WV and OH.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction project management role (mostly renovation projects within the $3-10 million range)
Experience working with public and private clients within the following markets: commercial or office, healthcare, education, multi-family, etc.
Experience in all phases of project delivery form buyout to closeout
Experience with various project delivery methods: design-bid-build, design-build, CM-at-risk, etc.
Experience in preparing and updating CPM project schedules
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Procore Construction Management Software
OSHA 10- or 30-hour certifications
ICRA 8-hour training certificate preferred
LEED Accredited Professional preferred
Design Build Institute of America Certificate preferred
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (subject to change)
Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience
