Work within product engineering to support software used in autonomous mobile robot platforms.  You will address issues raised from the production floor as well as customer support functions. You will also organize and track all issues to identify trends and help prioritize corrective action. Finally, you will work with development engineering to incorporate design improvements based on ongoing findings to address systemic problems and enhance system reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead efforts to identify root cause of reported issues including supporting investigation, analysis, and engineering reports
• Work with production as well as customer support personnel to determine the context of reported issues and other supporting details
• Investigate reported software problems and develop effective updates to resolve issues
• Create and maintain a database of issues to identify trends, track the effectiveness of updates, and provide metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of the sustainability process

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering 
• Experience with embedded software development for autonomous systems using a Linux development environment
• Experience with the support of localization, mapping, navigation, and obstacle detection algorithms and implementation software development for autonomous mobile robots in complex environments
• Experience with the use of ROS in autonomous mobile robot applications
• Working knowledge of sensor types and characteristics
• Experience working in a DevOps role is a plus
• Ability to work independently and with engineering and production groups
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
