This role directs the eCommerce Projects to ensure eCommerce programs and projects meet organization goals, align with roadmap strategies and provide value to customer focused initiatives. It is responsible for establishing and directing two separate functions; eCommerce Project Management, and eCommerce Quality Assurance. This requires the developing and implementing. Project Management processes and policies, and works with all department leaders and staff to define, prioritize and execute eCommerce projects and programs. This position entails managing projects through all phases of development, including writing and presenting proposals, gathering user inputs and feedback, analyzing and documenting business requirements, developing workflows/wireframes/mockups, planning projects, directing stakeholder meetings, and coordinating designers and developers through the development process.
This position acts as liaison between the business, creative, eCom, and IT departments for all projects, with regular stakeholder contact. The role will be responsible to work with the business staff to identify and scope potential projects, manage project priorities, develop project plans, in conjunction with creative, IT and business stakeholders, and manage execution of project plans and project deliverables. Must have significant experience project managing large scale web design and development projects involving the creation and launch of major e-commerce B2B websites.
Establish and directs all facets of the eCommerce project/program management, including project roadmap planning, capacity planning, release planning, process improvement and project tool selection.
Develop and implement a best practice scrum/agile methodology, with all associated tools, processes, etc. Train and coach all team members as need. Candidate who is a certified SCRUM Coach strongly preferred.
Responsible for management and delivery of a portfolio of eCommerce projects.
Communicates project and program status, issues and risks in a concise, accurate and data driven manner.
Interacts and collaborates with project sponsors, project stakeholders, executive leaders, organization leader’s business teams and technical teams to define and deliver complex projects.
Drives projects/programs to completion across multiple organizations and teams.
Anticipates project roadblocks, bottlenecks, provides escalation management, anticipates and responds to change, and balances business needs versus technical constraints.
Plans and manages multiple parallel projects while maximizing resource capacity to meet organizational goals.
Identifies, assesses, tracks and mitigates issues and risks at multiple levels.
Cultivates an environment where team members respect each other and work together to deliver high quality functionality.
Provides monthly portfolio status reporting to eCommerce team leaders.
Drives effective and efficient teamwork, communication and commitment across cross-functional teams with competing priorities.
Must have skills:
Demonstrated experience and thorough understanding of project/program management methodologies, systems development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Specific experience project managing web/mobile projects for eCommerce
Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, standards and procedures.
Proven track record of success leading transformational projects at large scale companies.
Strong bias for action and continuous improvement.
Detail oriented yet able to see the larger landscape of a project initiative.
Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to manage through change in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Including listening skills, concise communications and ability to target messages for specific audiences.
Demonstrated analytical thinker with strong technical skills.
7+ years of large scale project or program management in IT, eCommerce or a related industry.
5+ years of experience managing people and leading cross-functional teams.
Experience working with 3rd party vendors?and contract resources.
Experience with managing large budgets ($5+ million).
Experience in leading/building a Quality Assurance organization
Agile Scrum Certified
Bachelors’ Degree in software related field or equivalent experience in the industry. Valid Driver’s license with the ability to meet our clients vehicle policy.
