SUMMARY We are currently working with a highly successful privately held manufacturer of engineered products to identify an experienced Financial Accountant. This company has been in business over 50 years and is in a long-term growth mode that will include upcoming mergers / acquisitions as well as a constant focus on new product development and growth revenue goals. This environment is a tight knit group with very low turnover, offering a professional but very down to earth and friendly work environment.
The Financial Accountant is a newly created position to allow the CFO to focus on more strategic initiatives in the business. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity offering a competitive base salary, well above average benefit package, and a Monday through Friday schedule of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
POSITION We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant who can hit the ground running and be responsible for: • Preparing Financial Statements and Reports; preparing and posting Journal Entries and Subsidiary Ledgers • Collecting, analyzing data, and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends • Creating and analyzing KPI reports • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data • Examining financial records to check for accuracy • Preparing account reconciliations • Maintaining monthly accruals and estimates • Develop revenue and expense budgets and forecasts; compare actual results to estimated costs • Analysis of manufacturing costs and variances • Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations • Act as liaison and information resource for external audit • Assure compliance with GAAP, federal and state tax laws, and cost accounting principles • Updates job knowledge by keeping current with financial regulations and accepted practices; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintain personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 5+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing accounting environment • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, ERP, and accounting software • An analytical mind and desire to investigate further into data • Ability to develop strong working relationships • Capable of completing intricate tasks with a high degree of accuracy • Deadline oriented and ability to stick to time constraints
