Summary: The Help Desk Technician is responsible for the assistance and support of incoming issues related to network, software, and hardware deployed within the organization. This position is also responsible for increasing the technical knowledge of all staff by supporting those users during their daily operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Recognizes and respects diversity among coworkers and customers.
Installs, operates, and maintains information and functional systems for the organization as assigned.
Provides initial and Tier I level support to end users.
Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment malfunction to determine best course to a quick resolution.
Assists with the maintenance of LAN and DB system security measures.
Assists with repairs, updates, or upgrades to computer and telephone systems.
Prepares training materials and conducts individual training sessions for staff.
Tests and debugs systems.
Confers with the IT Manager and/or CIO to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing systems.
Writes and maintains systems documentation.
Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
Documents problems and resolutions for future reference.
Ensure all security and compliance standards are enforced.
Assist with all disaster recovery and business continuity plans and the maintenance of all related systems.
Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable work area.

Along with a minimum level of experience with network administration in a business environment, the candidate must be proficient with the following technologies:
Windows PC Operating Systems – 7 and above
Windows Server Operating Systems – 2008 and above
Software installation processes and technologies
Intranet/Internet architecture and infrastructure including web security and firewall technologies
Networking and data communication technologies – TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, ODBC
Experience with any of the following items is considered a plus:
