The IT Asset and Vendor Management track within the IT function comprises positions whose focus is to provide highly reliable, scalable, and cost effective services enabling PPG to meet audit requirements, control costs, and mitigate risk to ensure maximum value of managed vendors across all areas of engagement. Incumbents assume strategic decision making while working with IT Procurement, Finance and other stakeholders to onboard and provide governance for preferred IT vendors. The Service lead position is the highest level in this track and are self-led individual contributors with opportunities to champion team members!
Responsible for analyzing IT department needs by interfacing with IT leadership and plan for monthly software renewals while collaborating with IT procurement to save money managing spend of 1MM+
Expert facilitation skills and executive presence
Accountable and responsible for vendor licensing audits working with legal
Partner with Finance on monthly billing and allocations
Ensure the quality and integrity of IT procurement requests for software and licensing
Provide direction to team members to set priorities, lead governance, processes, and standards
Maintain the overall customer relationship with vendors and have expert understanding of IT contract verbiage.
Directly influence the customer experience through vendor management and lead and direct the process of onboarding new vendors while contributing to the achievement of cost savings following legal guidelines and working with IT procurement directly
Network with the Enterprise Architecture technology induction process
Demonstrate expert understanding of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field or related field
Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical resources and between IT procurement, legal, finance and IT
Rapidly assimilate products and processes and think and act strategically
Ability to work without close supervision, keeping focused on short and long-term objectives
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Minimum of seven years of experience in IT infrastructure or IT Asset Management or related discipline with a strong understanding of financial billing and financial drivers
SAM tool experience and vendor management expertise preferred but not required
An understanding of market trends in the field or related field, governance and how IT affects an organization, and IT system architectures on-premise and cloud based solutions
Expert teamwork, interpersonal skills and leadership of cross-functional teams
Proven flexibility in managing competing priorities, strong oral and written communications skills and demonstrated detail oriented organizational skills
